Creating this website

Collecting bottles and wanting to document and share my collection is half of why this site exists. The other reason is that I like playing around with creating random little websites. The thought on this site was to create a more structured data site so that it was easy to search/sort/filter to certain bottles. That goal is still a work in progress. To start with, I found a template I liked online and started building out the sitemap.... what pages do I want, how will a user navigate the site, etc.
For showing off my beer bottles, photos were going to be a key part of the site. I picked a template that featured photos first. I also like the rollover affect the homepage has, where you can roll over an image and then see the name of the beer and some other info about the bottle or can.
Creating these blog articles is another key part. If I want anyone to find this site, I better create some unique content! But it's also a great place to write down my thoughts as I go through both the process of creating this site as well as giving me a place to share stories about collecting bottles. Some of the fun of creating my various sites is coming back to them years down the road and reading what I wrote at the time.
As of this blog post, I've still got a long way to go. Both on the structured data site of things, adding more overall pages and content. But I've also noticed one of the hardest parts of this project is going to be actually documenting each... and every... bottle. But hey, that will give me a chance to do some reoganizing of the collection. :)
Check out the footer of the site if you want to find any other random sites I work on. And in the mean time, hope you enjoy checking out some of my bottle collection!
